Laura Lynn Butcher grew up in a small town in Mid-Michigan called Breckenridge and still lives in the area today with her husband, Steve, and their son, Isaiah. In 1994, Laura started as a seamstress working at Alterations by Marilyn in Midland, Michigan. After Marilyn retired in 2000, Laura decided to purchase the alterations business from Marilyn. Since 2000, Alterations by Laura Lynn has been serving the Midland community with a strong emphasis on customer service.

After a few years of ownership, Laura felt the desire to express her creative side in a different way. She then had the opportunity to purchase a local purse business in 2005. Since purchasing Purses by Laura Lynn, Laura has taken the business to a new level with new purse designs and ideas such as the Lulu (which is Laura’s nickname), the Lil’ Lilly and the Lil’ Betsy (which is a named after Laura’s friend that has helped her grow the business). Steve, Laura’s husband, has been tremendously supportive of her ambitions. He even helps Laura cut fabric at home. In 2009, they decided to carry women’s apparel & accessories. Then in March, 2011. they decided to open another “Laura Lynn’s Boutique” in downtown Midland on 118 Rodd St. ( next though Shorty shoes) carrying many very unique items with an upscale appeal & downtown flare.
